Gabi’s something of a legend around these parts. As a member of the ops team for close to three years, she’s worked the late shifts and the earlies, she’s no doubt answered your questions and she’s hand-picked the gifs that made you chuckle.

Outside of our office walls, she’s starred in Christmas ads and strut her stuff on stage. Basically, she’s as dear to us as dumplings are to her, and we couldn’t keep it to ourselves any longer. It’s time you met Gabi.

How long have you worked at Catapult?

For nearly two and a half years!

How did you get the job?

I was a candidate working mostly with Olivia Burton and got an email from Catapult Head Office asking me if I’d be interested in joining their Operations Team. I was super excited and thankfully got the job!

How does your role impact candidates and employers?

We are the first point of contact for both candidates and employers so we have a big impact on them. We are the people answering all of your queries and problems and trying to make things better for everyone.

Meet the team

What’s the best thing about Catapult?

I am an actress so Catapult is great for me because it’s very flexible. But most of all, it is such a fun place to work. The people I work with every day make me smile and laugh and are great support!

What has been your favourite ever interaction with a candidate or employer?

Hmmm… I mean there are a lot of very funny stories and typos. Too many to regale you with; but my favourite is when people accidentally miss-type “shift” – gets me every time!

What are your passions outside of work? (Tell us about them.)

Well, I am an actress (so that’s an obvious passion) but my other passion is dumplings. I love them in all forms: Dim Sum (my fav), Irish, Kneidlach, Polish etc. you name it!

How do you balance that with Catapult?

Dumplings and Catapult? They work pretty well together. I can always make time for dumplings.

No, but seriously, in terms of acting; it can be a little tiring at times trying to balance it all, but it’s 100% worth it. Sometimes I will be working a 9-hour shift at Catapult and then going straight to an evening performance but you’ve got to facilitate what you really want to do in life!

Why is balancing work and life important?

Work is meant to help make your life better, not detract from it.

How would you describe the Catapult team?

The Catapult team are friendly, fun, cool, dorky and bizarre. And a special big shout out to my ops teammates – as they are the most lovely supportive team you could ask for.
